In the coming months, Sarah Small and her team have dedicated plans to complete work on the feature documentary film - while simultaneously preparing for an international tour of the live performance.

The feature film, currently entitled The Delirium Constructions, follows photographer Sarah Small as she leads us on a revelatory journey through the interactive creative process of her most ambitious work, Tableau Vivant of the Delirium Constructions. Inspired by history's striking French "living pictures," the Tableau Vivant is a revolutionary live performance installation that has evolved from Sarah's internationally acclaimed photographic series. The film The Delirium Constructions is driven by Small's personal interactions with the diverse 120-model Tableau Vivant cast and creative team over the course of two years. Audiences have intimate access to the unique solitary and communal experiences of the members of this artistic family throughout the process of casting, rehearsing, and performing the live Tableau Vivant project. Several of the participants, including Small herself, are singled out for their interesting life stories, lending weight and clarity to the images created within the live Tableau. With arresting photographic imagery; evocative classical, Bulgarian a Cappella, and operatic music; and startling visual personalities, The Delirium Constructions reveals the evolutionary process of creating art and community as it leaves us contemplating raw and poignant truths about humankind's timeless yearning to find connection within ourselves and with one another.

Following the release of the feature film, Small and collaborators will tour the performance globally, aiming to hit cities including Brussels, Tel Aviv, Berlin, Paris, and Sydney throughout 2013. While continuing to cinematically document the evolutionary process of building these works for her filmic sequel, Small will examine culture-specific marriage rituals, paralleling her ongoing studies of the quest for intimacy and connection, worldwide. Officiating a legal marriage in each country throughout her international journey, Small will continue to unite reality with performance. Part homage to the history of art, part joyous celebration, and part radical experiment, Small's Tableaux celebrate humanity through a diverse collection of emotions, gestures, facial expressions, and movement, representing a visual encyclopedia of the human condition.
